Why did you choose the graduate programme at JMK Solicitors?
I chose the Graduate Programme at JMK Solicitors because of the vast amount of hands-on experience the graduates gain. The Graduates at JMK Solicitors are given the opportunity to work with Legal Advisors who are experts in their field, and are actively involved with cases from the very beginning, from making initial calls to attending court.
What have you learnt?
Since joining the Graduate Programme, I have learnt so much about the management of a personal injury case, and about the importance of team working throughout the departments in the office to get the best results for our clients. I have learnt how to support clients in a difficult time, and to think outside the box to make the situation easier for them.
What are the benefits of the Graduate Programme?
There are so many benefits to the Graduate Programme. Firstly, you are immediately given hands-on experience with working on files, interacting with clients and attending court. You are supported in everything you do by an encouraging team of people who are willing to help with any questions, and who want to see you do well. A major benefit to the graduate programme is the opportunity to progress to a Legal Executive and be given the opportunity to have management of your own case load.
What would you want a law student to know about working at JMK Solicitors?
I would recommend the graduate programme and working at JMK Solicitors to any law student as it is a brilliant environment to begin your legal career. Working alongside Solicitors with a wealth of knowledge of Personal Injury law provides an opportunity to increase your understanding, and puts you in the best position to look after clients as well as possible.
How would you describe the culture at JMK Solicitors?
I would describe the culture at JMK Solicitors as supportive. No question is too small or silly, and every member of the team wants those around them to succeed. There is an emphasis on celebrating success, so there are no small wins and every achievement is recognised. There is also an emphasis on employee wellbeing, with the 4-day working week allowing everyone a chance to wind down.
What has been a highlight of your time in JMK Solicitors so far?
A highlight of my time in JMK Solicitors has to be taking on my own cases. I have learnt so much through this, and enjoy making sure I do the best for my clients.
